The Diversity Activities National Association (DANA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting, guiding, and empowering foster care, adopted, and high-risk children. Since 2006, DANA has positively impacted countless families through engaging activities, valuable resources, and comprehensive training for both parents and children. Committed to advocacy and collaboration, DANA partners with various organizations to deliver community, educational, and cultural programs that enrich and strengthen communities.
Aging out of the foster care system often presents significant challenges. Many youth face trauma-related issues such as mental health disorders, low self-esteem, and substance abuse. Statistics show that 20% will experience homelessness within a year, 1 in 3 will pursue higher education, 25% may need hospitalization, and 33% will struggle with mental health disorders. DANA is dedicated to addressing these challenges by providing programs that foster self-esteem, mental wellness, and pathways to success. Supporting DANA means giving foster youth the resources and support needed to overcome these obstacles and to allow them to build brighter futures.
